“A Filipino’s View on his Surroundings”

Insulting Words

People are entitled to their own opinion, but it doesn’t mean they have the right to trample on other people’s feelings nor insult them.

Last March 27, 2009.  An article from one of Hong Kong’s veteran journalist made quite a stir.  In his article he called the Philippines a “Nation of Servants”.  Wow!  It is clear that Mr. Chip Tsao, intend to insult the Filipino people.  An insult that should never be ignored.  The Philippine government demanded an apology, and black listed Tsao in the Philippines.  So that in the most unlikely event that tsao decided to visit the Philippines he will be stopped from entering the country as soon as he gets off the plane.

HK Magazine, where the article was first published made an apology already.  But the author of the said article is still holding back.  What a moron!  And it all started because of the Spratly Islands.  His comments can make the relationship between Hong Kong and The Philippines in a very tight spot.  The Hong Kong authorities should do something about it.  Don’t you think so?  Mr. Tsao (and I used that term loosely) should learn to be professional in all aspects of his job.  He also needs to take a lesson in ethics and diplomacy.  Mr. Tsao’s reckless comments might cause conflict in an international scale.  Should that happen is he willing to take responsibility for it?

Why don’t he just say three words that President Arroyo, made popular a couple of years ago?  It’s not hard to say.  In fact our president said it in front of national telivision.  Mr. Tsao the words are: “I am sorry.”  Three words that can end all this.

Of course Mr. Tsao won’t do it.  He is not man enough to take responsibility for his words and action.
