Rest Day/Movie Day! 1.1
It’s my rest day today!
Apart spending more time with my wife and son; I tend to watch movies in my old DVD player. I would like to share what I’ve seen today! This article will have spoilers so if you haven’t seen these movies (as if!) then I suggest you move on to another post.
Bayaning 3rd World (1999)
A docu-movie which features Ricky Davao and Chris Villanueva as film makers thinking what would be the perfect plot for a movie about the Philippines National Hero: Dr. Jose Rizal. The film which was directed by Master Director: Mike De Leon was in black and white. It shows insights on the days Rizal was exiled in Dapitan and of course his final days. The main protagonist tried to shed some light whether Rizal did indeed signed a retraction to all of his works and beliefs and returned to the Catholic faith during the hours before his execution or not? Also Starring Joel Torre as Rizal.
Space Jam (1996)
Starring his “Airness” Michael Jordan and the Looney Toons gang! This live – animation film directed by Joe Pytka features a lot of NBA stars and our favorite “toons” like Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and Elmer Fudd. The story shows how the “toons” challenged a bunch of puny aliens to a basketball game. If the aliens win the toons will work in a Theme Park Planer owned by an alien voiced by Danny De Vito. Little do the toons know that the puny aliens stole the talents of Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing and 3 other NBA stars to get game. A must see movie for the young and the young-at-heart!
X-Men: The Last Stand (2006)
The final part of the X-men Trilogy. Featuring everybodys favorite mutant Wolverine played with gusto by Hugh Jackman (Still thinks that he’s too tall for the role, though) and Halle Berry as Storm. The movie is a continuation about the struggle of mutants to be accepted by the humans. Directed by Brett Ratner. It’s a very quick story filled with lots of action and of course special effects! Also starring Anna Paquin, Shawn Ashmore and Ellen Page. If you haven’t seen it wait until the closing credits are finished.
So there you go my “Rest Day” movie list for this week. What do you do on your rest day?
