“A Filipino’s View on his Surroundings”

The Dream That Came True

225px-rosaparksIt has been over 40 years has past when Rosa Parks sat and and Dr. Martin Luther King “marched”, and 45 years after he spoke his very famous “I have a Dream” speech.  When the true outcome of the Civil Rights Movement in the U.S.A. finally came.

As they said Rosa sat, so that King can march, so that Obama can become President.250px-martin_luther_king_jr_nywts

A few weeks ago the U.S.A voted for the first time in history the first African-American President of their country Barrack Hussein Obama II.

It was a hard road to travel for the Civil Right Movers.  It was filled with tears, violence and hardhips.  But it seems their efforts have paid off.  Barrack Obama won in an almost landslide.  Showing the whole world that sacrifices of many people almost 50 years ago have not been in vain.

I only wish the violence here in the Philippines between the government and some of our Muslim brothers would also ceased and learn from the lessons of the past.  That violence will not solve anything.  Everything will fall into place if only people are willing to sit down and talk.

“I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at a table of brotherhood.”

“I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: ‘We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.’”

- Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

May Peace reign in every corner of the world!
