Diner Dash and Other Casual Games.
There’s always a time in a person’s life, that he will need some kind of distraction. A distraction to relieved some stress and other worries of the world. During those times I always watch the “Sound of Music”. But these last few weeks, my 3 year-old son also discovered the wonders of DVD. Because of this, he’s hogging the DVD player all day to watch, FHM Videos, or maybe watch “Basic Instinct” again for the umpteenth time! (Just kidding.
) My son always watch Videos of Barney and other children shows of course.
I really don’t mind when that happens because I have recently discovered “Casual Games” on the computer. So what are Casual games? Casual games are games on the computer (or cellphone) that have ridiculously simple rules. The games can be played by just using a mouse or by just using a few buttons as possible. You can even play it, even without reading the instructions of the game because as I said the rules are way too simple. But Even though the game is simple it doesn’t mean it’s not challenging. I myself can spend a few hours on one game only because it’s challenging and very entertaining.
The most popular of these in my opinion is “Diner Dash“! A strategy game Introduced in December of 2003. Players takes the role of Flo a stockbroker who quits her job to run her own diner. The gameplay is simple, you guide Flo seating customers to be served by her in her restaurant. You just point the mouse on where you want Flo to go. It’s that easy!
But it’s really is very challenging. You have to meet a certain amount of money per round, otherwise you can’t advance. Especially the latter rounds when the customers are piling up and there’s no more seat in the house. The game gained so much popularity that it generated 3 sequels and 3 spin-offs! Wedding Dash, Sponge Bob Diner Dash and Pet Shop Hop. and Flo does a cameo on each spin-off.
Casual gaming can really help you relieve stress. But if your not into casual games, there are other hard core computer games out there like Star Craft and there are 3D games as well. Gone are the days of games that uses simple graphics.
Casual gaming, stress reliever and addicting.
